Career Summary

After college, Wayne held a number of jobs outside of the legal profession, but joined Maurice Ruben Claire solicitors in Manchester as a clerk in March 1990.

The practice was subsequently taken over by Davies Arnold Cooper and Wayne rose through the ranks as his experience grew. He worked initially, in the commercial litigation team dealing with debt recovery and moved to the common law department, dealing with, predominantly, defendant personal injury claims for insurers.

Wayne gained wide experience of employer's liability and public liability cases as well as dealing with a number of road traffic matters. He gained particular knowledge and experience of occupational illness cases.

Wayne qualified as a fellow of the institute of Legal Executives in June 1999 and was promoted to Litigation Manager in July 2001.

In January 2002 Wayne joined the insurance litigation team of Merricks LLP in their Birmingham office where he was assistant to the head of department.

On the establishment of the Manchester office of Merricks LLP in 2003 Wayne returned to Manchester to take up the role of Deputy Head of the Manchester personal injury team, dealing with a range of cases, for both claimants and defendants.

In March 2004 Wayne left Merricks LLP to join the newly established firm of Webster O'Brien as senior Litigation Manager.
